In addition to making the aircraft look dirty and less appealing, the dirt that accumulates on the aircraft surface also increases the fuel it consumes by making the aircraft heavier and less aerodynamic.

Traditionally aircraft are cleaned by using highly pressurised water between four to five times every year. However, on an average this technique uses more than 11,300 litres of water to clean one Airbus A380 aircraft and more than 9,500 litres of water to clean a Boeing 777 aircraft every time.

Since early 2014 Blaukaiser has been using an A112™ Non Water Dry Wash to clean over 3500 aircrafts. The Blaukaiser A112™ is first applied manually to the entire external surface of the aircraft. Clean microfibre fabric is then used to remove the cleaning Blaukaiser A112™ which has dried to a film, removing the dirt along with it and leaving the aircraft clean and polished. The aircraft is left with a fine protective film allowing the painted surface to retain a longer gloss and shine. It takes a crew of 10 staff about 8 hours to clean an A380 and about 7 hours to clean a Boeing 777 aircraft.

There are multiple advantages for using the Blaukaiser A112™ Non Water Dry Wash. The first is that there is little use of water to clean the aircraft. When consolidated over its fleet of 3500 clients Aircrafts, Blaukaiser A112™ Non Water Dry Wash helps to save over 11 million litres of water every year. Additionally the waterless aircraft wash cleaning product ensures that the aircraft remains cleaner for a longer period of time thereby reducing the number of times the aircraft has to be washed to about three times a year, and also reducing the aircraft’s fuel consumption because of less accumulation of dirt.

Operationally, it is possible for other maintenance work to be carried out on the aircraft in parallel during a dry wash which is not possible when the aircraft is being washed with water due to the sensitivity of instruments to water.

Blaukaiser A112™ NonWater with paint protection can be applied day or night, during periods of high humidity or dew, with no hazing problems. Reducing aircraft downtime and turnaround. Blaukaiser A112™ NonWater with paint protection is safe on painted and unpainted metal surfaces and can aid restore dulled paintwork colors and luster.

PROPERTIES

Blaukaiser A112™ NonWater with paint protection is easy to apply, simply spray it on, spread over the surface with a damp cloth, allow dry time for a few seconds and then wipe off with a clean micro-fiber cloth. Suitable for all exterior aircraft surfaces including Plexiglass. Made in Düsseldorf Germany for the highest manufacturing standars.

APPLICATION

Shake or stir well before use. Apply the Blaukaiser A112™ NonWater with paint protection to a clean cloth ,3M pad or directly to the surface to be cleaned. Spread out thin layer over a section to be cleaned and wipe the product (through the dirt in the section). Let dry for a few minutes until a haze appears to lift off the dirt. Remove the residue with a dry clean cloth. The product can also be removed in a semi-dry condition. Repeat process (in sections) over the surface. Regular use protects the paint against corrosion and leaves the aircraft surface in an aerodynamically clean condition. It is a concentrated unique blend with natural wax with Nano-Tech polymers.

Note: There is no waste or environmental contamination issues with this product, the cloths are laundered and re-used.

EFFECT ON MATERIALS

Blaukaiser A112™ NonWater with paint protection is safe to be used on all painted and unpainted surfaces. Blaukaiser A112™ NonWater with paint protection will not craze acrylic plastic windows, however always use fresh, clean micro-fiber cloths for the window areas to avoid any possibility of cloths containing particles that could scratch the surface.
